Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English singer-songwriter was born in London, on the 22nd of August 1995. Dua Lipa signed to Warner Bros Records after a few years of working and put out a self-titled album in the year 2017. The album was ranked at number 3 at the U.K. Charts and released eight singles. This included Be the One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. No. 1 track New Rules as well as the U.K. No. One Single New Rules. Lipa received an award at the Brit Awards in 2018 for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act and her album was certified platinum in several countries worldwide. Dua Lipa was born at the age of 18 in London with Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa rexha (mother) and Dukagjin lilipa (father). Dua Lipa has Bosnian descent through her maternal grandmother. She can trace her ancestry back to Peja the city of Kosovo. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. She is a sister to Rina Lipa and a younger brother named Gjin. The father of Lipa, who was a musician and lead singer from the Kosovan the band Oda was a major influence on her music. Her father played music at home, including songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa was just five years old when she began singing. At the age of nine years old, Lipa started to sing at her school, the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa sang Beautiful Christina Aguilera's Beautiful as well as If Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys. Lipa made her debut record deal in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. The first single she released was New Love was released in August of 2015.
